Israelis rolled out the welcome mat for Jennifer Lopez as she touched down at Ben-Gurion International Airport on Tuesday ahead of a Thursday night show at Yarkon Park in Tel Aviv.
The pop icon arrived this week ahead of a performance in Tel Aviv as part of her 25-city ‘It’s My Party’ tour, marking her 50th birthday. She was accompanied by her partner, former professional baseball player Alex Rodriguez, her 11-year-old twins and his two daughters.
“The mother land Israel!!! First time here. I’m in love!” JLo tweeted.
The blended celeb family also was accompanied by 100 dancers, musicians and technical staff, who toted along a reported 45 tons of equipment for JLo’s show at the tail end of the multicity tour.
Concert producer Mario Arlovski said the “amazing response” has prompted the addition of bus and train lines to the park. He is seeking a permit to expand the venue to allow for ticket sales until the event, which will feature Israeli artists Itay Levi and Adiel Tery as warm-up acts.
