‘It is clearly a miracle,’ wife of David Stern recounts, as his condition reportedly sees improvement.

The condition of David Stern, the man who on Sunday was moderately-to-seriously wounded in a shooting terror attack as he and his family drove through the Arab village of Huwara in Samaria, is improving, Israel Hayom reported.
Dr. Shahaf Shiver, head of the emergency room at Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikvah, said that “At the moment we are assessing his condition, administering treatment and trying to stabilize his condition.”
“He his suffering from shooting wounds to his head and shoulder. His wife, who was with him in the vehicle, was not wounded and is waiting for him near the trauma unit.”
Stern’s wife, Rachel, expressed optimism about her husband’s recovery, telling Israel Hayom “he will be OK.”
“We were traveling along the road when, suddenly, we were shot at. [David] was hit in the arm and in the head. Despite this, he responded with fire.”
“The CT scan results came out normal. Thank G-d, he will be OK. It is clearly a miracle.”
A former member of the US Marine Corps, Stern later immigrated to Israel and helped train civilian security units of Israeli towns in Samaria. He is a martial arts expert who has trained in Japan.
Stern had been driving with his wife and three of his children at the time of the attack. Also a trained EMT, Stern was able to fire back at the terrorist and reportedly bandaged his wounds before medics arrived.
His wife was lightly injured and suffered trauma, while his children were unharmed.
Following the attack, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, “I am praying for the wounded hero injured in the attack in Huwara, who was able to neutralize the terrorist. I send my support to the security forces operating in the area. I reiterate: Anyone trying to harm the citizens of Israel will pay the price.”
