Hamas Leader Abu Marzouk publicly calls for Israel’s destruction, but privately thanks God for its existence and the medical treatment it is providing for his sister.
Halamia Shcata, 60, the sister of senior Hamas official Mousa Abu Marzouk, is being treated in an Israeli hospital.
Shcata, who is suffering from cancer, is in critical condition, and was therefore hospitalized in Israel. She has been previously treated in Israel.
The Jerusalem Post quotes the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories as saying that Israel approves the entry each week of a number of Palestinians based on humanitarian needs. The cases are tested on an individual basis by need without regard to family connections, the COGAT added.
Marzouk himself accused Israel on Sunday of violating the cease-fire that ended Operation Protective Edge by closing the border crossings into Gaza. Israel did so in response to a rocket fired from Gaza into Israel over the weekend.
“This is a childish and irresponsible act,” Marzouk stated. “This is collective punishment on the Gaza Strip which violates all international laws, including the terms of the ceasefire agreement.” he further threatened Israel that the move “will not be quietly overlooked.”
Israel Provides Care to Those in Need (Even Enemies)
Palestinian leaders have a history of hospitalizing their relatives in top Israeli medical facilities. They know that their relatives will receive top-of-the-line treatment, regardless of their background.
The daughter of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh received treatment in Israel in October after suffering complications from a routine procedure in Gaza. She was saved by Israeli doctors who cured her in an Israeli medical facility.
Haniyeh’s granddaughter was treated at an Israeli hospital last November, while his mother-in-law received care at a Jerusalem hospital in June.
Just a few days after the launch of Operation Brother’s Keeper at the beginning of the summer to locate three Israeli boys abducted and murdered by Hamas, Palestinian Authority head Mahmoud Abbas’s wife received treatment at an Israeli hospital.
What Does Hamas Do With All That Money Meant for Medical Care?
Governments and private organizations around the world provide millions of dollars in funds to Hamas and the Palestinians. Israel also provides thousands of tons in supplies and aid to Gaza each week. Despite all this support, both funds earmarked for medical care and critical supplies seem to disappear when they reach the hands of the Unity Government of Hamas and the PA.
Those funds should be used to set up quality medical centers in Gaza and PA Territories so the self-professed enemies of Israel can stop relying on the generosity of people they hate. The lack of progress in these areas reflects the truth about relief funds donated to the PA: they are used to wage war. Click here to sign our petition: STOP FUNDING THE PA.
