Hamas has called for the further murder of Jews as it complimented the terrorist who went on a shooting rampage in Jerusalem on Sunday, killing two Israelis and wounding six.
The Hamas terror group praised the terrorist who murdered two Israelis in a Jerusalem shooting rampage on Sunday and called for stepped-up attacks on Israelis as the latest wave of violence enters a second year.
Husam Badran, a Hamas spokesman based in Qatar, called on Monday for Hamas’ terrorists to get ready “for a new phase of confrontation.”
He also accused Israel of “targeting” the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and promised “a response from the heroic fighters.”
The Palestinian leadership has long used false libels about Israel’s supposed nefarious plans to somehow harm the Al-Aqsa mosque on the Temple Mount to fuel attacks and violence against Israelis.
The statement came a day after a Hamas member killed two Israelis and wounded six in a shooting rampage in Jerusalem. Such attacks, along with stabbings, have marked a year-long surge in violence that has killed 41 victims and wounded over 550.
Israel’s security forces are on high alert, especially in the capital, in the wake of Sunday’s deadly attack and amid fears that Palestinians will carry out terror attacks to mar the Jewish New Year holiday celebrations, fears which have in fact materialized.
