Nasrallah again threatened to attack Israel’s strategic facilities and cause mass casualties.
Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah boasted about being able to target Israel’s nuclear facilities in Dimona, while ridiculing Israel for supposedly being afraid of Hezbollah’s “might.”
“Israel knows we can turn the reactor in Dimona from a threat to us into a threat against itself, with our missiles,” Nasrallah said in remarks broadcast on Hezbollah’s Al-Manar satellite station on Thursday, boasting that his terror group could turn “Israel’s main weapon into a threat against Israelis themselves.”
“If Hezbollah is weakened, Israel will see it as an opportunity for war. Support for Hezbollah in Lebanon protects Lebanese people from war….Israel is aware of Hezbollah’s might and is afraid of us,” he added.
“I call upon Israel not only to evacuate the ammonia tank from Haifa, but also to dismantle the Dimona nuclear reactor,” Nasrallah said shortly after an ammonia tank in Haifa was closed down earlier this week.
Nasrallah has previously threatened to strike at strategic installations within Israel.
A year ago, Nasrallah threatened to use Israel’s chemical storage facilities and ammonia containers, which contain more than 15 thousand tons of gas, against it as a “nuclear bomb” in the event of a future conflict with the Jewish State.
“This would be exactly as a nuclear bomb, and we can say that Lebanon today has a nuclear bomb, seeing as any rocket that might hit these tanks is capable of creating a nuclear bomb effect,” he threatened.
Hezbollah launched several rocket attacks on Haifa during the Second Lebanon War in 2006, but caused no damage on such a colossal scale.
Responding to the threats, Israel’s Minister of Intelligence Yisrael Katz warned the terror group that if it attacks Israel, “all of Lebanon will be hit.”
“If Nasrallah dares to fire at the Israel home front or at its national infrastructure, all of Lebanon will be hit,” Katz said in a statement.
