The IDF on Wednesday said that soldiers had “neutralized” a terrorist who carried out a car ramming attack at a junction near Hebron, south of Jerusalem.

According to the IDF, the terrorist approached in a vehicle and accelerated toward an IDF force carrying out operations in the area.

The forces at the scene managed to neutralize the terrorist. However, the terrorist hit an IDF soldier with his vehicle.

The soldier was lightly injured and treated at the scene before being evacuated to the hospital for further treatment. His family has been notified.

The incident comes around a week after Israeli kindergarten teacher Batsheva Nigri, 42, was murdered in the same area after terrorists opened fire at her vehicle.

Nigri’s 12 year old daughter, who was in the back seat of the car at the time of the attack, was not injured.

The IDF also said that security forces had last night arrested 16 terror suspects across Judea and Samaria.

In the Kafr Qaddum, elite IDF forces arrested seven terror suspects and confiscated a pistol, a homemade grenade launcher, a hand grenade and military equipment.

In the village of Abu Dis, a bomb was thrown at security forces, while in the village of Beit Rima, stones were thrown at forces. In both cases, the forces responded with riot dispersal measures.

In the villages of Beit Rima, Kifl Harith, Yabad and Kafr Qallil, forces confiscated a homemade “Carlo” weapon, taser, knife, club, firecrackers, ammunition, and pipe bomb.

No soldiers were injured during the operations.
