The last straw? “I look forward to working with my colleagues to ensure passage of my bill, H.R. 3773, the Stop Anti-Semitism on College Campuses Act,” Rep. Mike Lawler stated.

For many years, it has been widely understood that rampant antisemitism on North American college campuses, disguised as anti-Zionism, had reach an intolerable level. But on May 12, City University of New York (CUNY) School of of Law graduate Fatima Mohammed delivered a viciously antisemitic commencement speech that was perhaps the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Her vile lies against the Jewish state included, for example: “Israel continues to indiscriminately rain bullets and bombs on worshipers, murdering the old and young, attacking even funerals and graveyards as it encourages lynch mobs to target Palestinian homes and businesses as it imprisons its children.”

Mohammed said she “want[s] to celebrate CUNY Law as one of the few, if not the only, law school to make a public statement defending the right of its students to organize and speak out against “Israeli settler colonialism.”

“This is the law school that has passed and endorsed BDS [anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions] on a student and faculty level,” she affirmed, before listing lies about the Jewish state that could be described as nothing less than blood libels.

“We are the student body and faculty that fought back when the investor-focused administration attempted to cross the BDS picket line, saying loud and clear that Palestine can no longer be the exception to our pursuit of justice, that our morality will not be purchased by investors,” she said.

Mohammed, who garnered resounding applause from her fellow graduates, did not limit her invective to Israel; she also called for a “revolution,” including the defunding of the New York Police Department and the U.S. military.

‘By Any Means’

Notwithstanding CUNY’s documented history of antisemitism in recent years, she slammed CUNY Central, which “continues to fail us, continues to train and cooperate with the fascist NYPD, the military, that continues to train [Israeli] soldiers to carry out that same violence globally…

“May the rage that fills this auditorium dance in the hallways of our elementary schools…may it be the fuel for the fight against capitalism and racism, imperialism and Zionism around the world…by any means necessary…We will protect the fight that brings us all closer to the fall of all oppressive institutions – a reality that is only myopic and unrealistic to the oppressors, but is the inevitable future for the oppressed, for oppressed people everywhere.

“Far greater empires of destruction have fallen before, and so will these. And so, to the class of 2023, the fight begins now.”

‘Hatred and Antisemitism at its Worst’

Joining calls by individuals and groups saying that CUNY and other colleges spewing antisemitism should no longer be supported by taxpayers, New York Congressman. Mike Lawler has introduced a bill to strip CUNY of federal funding.

“What we heard was just a diatribe of hatred and antisemitism at its worst, and really, it is just shameful that CUNY allowed her to take the stage,” Lawler said in an interview with Fox News, noting that Mohammed was “promoting the BDS movement, which is antisemitic to its core….

“This is why I introduced legislation that would hold these institutions accountable…They do not deserve federal dollars, federal taxpayer funds to promote this nonsense. And so that is why we introduced legislation – and I’m going to push for its passage – to strip any federal dollars for colleges and universities that allow for, promote or engage in antisemitic behavior on college campuses. It has to stop.”
