IDF Sargeant Shadi Ibrahim was forced to have his leg amputated after a Palestinian hit him in a vicious car-ramming attack last week.
When he came to the hospital following the surgery, he said, “I want to go back to my soldiers, nothing will break me.”
Later that day he received a visit from the chief of the Southern Command, Major General Herzi Halevi,at Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba.
Shortly after, Ibrahim posted a video clip to social media, commenting, “I came out of intensive care and everything’s fine. I love you all – including all who sent messages when I wasn’t able to respond.”
The attack took place near Negohot, close to the holy city of Hebron.
The terrorist picked up speed as he barrelled toward a group of IDF soldiers as they changed guard duty.
The terrorist was immediately neutralized by another soldier.
In the aftermath of the attack, Ibraham’s uncle commented, “As long as he’s alive, that’s all that matters. We wish all IDF soldiers a safe return to their parents.”
