On Tuesday, Ahmed Erekat tried to ram his car into several Israelis near the town of Ma’aleh Adumim.

Despite being signaled to pull over for a routine stop at a guard post, Erekat  increased his speed, veering into a the post and injuring a policewoman.

The terrorist then got out of his car, after which security forces on the scene fatally shot him.

Following the incident, Erekat was revealed to be the nephew of Saeb Erekat, the Palestinian Authority’s chief negotiator during the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks and one of the highest-ranking members of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), led for decades by Egyptian-born Palestinian arch-terrorist Yasser Arafat.

After the incident, Erekat the elder tweeted, “Netanyahu is responsible,” claiming his nephew was “murdered in cold blood.”

Car rammings remain a popular form of attack for Palestinian terrorists seeking to murder Israelis.

In 2018, for instance, there were eight car rammings, in addition to shootings and stabbings.

In one such attack, two IDF soldiers were killed in northern Samaria near the Israeli community of Mevo Dotan. A 26-year-old named Alan Qabha rammed his vehicle into them and fled, injuring three other Israelis.

Palestinians who commit such attacks, and their family memebrs in cases in which the terrorists are killed, are eligible for lifetime salaries from the Palestinian Authority.

On Wednesday afternoon, Israel’s Border Police released a video of Erekat’s car-ramming attack.
