Palestinian terror organizations praised the car terror attack in Jerusalem on Friday, blaming the Israeli government for the violence.
Four Israeli border policemen and one civilian were injured in Jerusalem on Friday morning during the festive holiday of Purim when a Palestinian terrorist rammed his car into them while they were waiting for a train. Security forces shot and critically wounded the assailant after he got out of his car and tried stabbing them.
The Popular Resistance movement in Palestine praised Friday morning’s car terror attack, the Palestinian Ma’an news agency reports.
“The attack comes as a response to Israeli crimes,” Hassan al-Zaalan, an official of the movement, said following the incident.
The Hamas terror group also lauded the “heroic” car attack in Jerusalem, describing the terrorist’s actions as a “natural response” to “Israeli crimes.”
Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum added that the “extremist” Israeli government was responsible for the violence in Jerusalem.
The site of the attack, on Shimon HaTzadik Street, was the site of the November 5th hit and run terror attack in which one border police officer was murdered and 13 people were injured.
Jerusalem, which was in the midst of the most joyful and colorful days of the year, decided not to cancel the Purim celebrations.
Jerusalem Will Not Yield to Terror
“We won’t let terror disrupt the daily routine of our lives, and we will continue to fight it without compromise,” Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat stated. “I want to praise the alert security forces, municipality guards, officers and citizens that brought a quick end of the event and prevented additional attacks.”
The mayor emphasized that “our answer to terror is a continuation of the routine, and therefore all the Purim events in the capital will continue as planned and security in the city will be boosted.”
The most recent terror attack in Jerusalem before Purim occurred on February 22, when an 18-year-old Arab terrorist stabbed and wounded an Israeli man in central Jerusalem.
Barkat and his bodyguard, who happened to be driving nearby, spotted the assailant, grabbed him and held him down until the arrival of police, who took him in for questioning.

Petition to the United States and European Union
We demand that all funding of the PA be stopped immediately. The brutal murder of Israelis committed by Palestinian terrorists throughout Israel is the latest result of ongoing PA incitement against Israeli citizens. Funding the PA means funding terror.
