Arab terrorists on Tuesday night fired at an IDF post situated near the city of Shechem (Nablus) in Samaria, causing no injuries or damage.
The IDF stated Wednesday morning that it received a report of an attempted shooting attack from a passing vehicle on a military post.
Troops scanning the scene of the attack found a bullet, giving credence to the report.
“IDF fighters are working in the area to locate the suspect,” the IDF stated.
At the beginning of 2020, Israel’s security agency head Nadav Argaman revealed that the Shin Bet thwarted hundreds of terrorist attacks in the previous year.
“Last year was a year filled with security challenges in all the areas we operate in. We thwarted over 560 significant attacks, including 10 suicide bombings, four kidnapping attacks and over 300 shootings,” Argaman stated.
This success was the result of the Shin Bet’s “investment, determination, perseverance, professionalism and creativity that characterize your work,” he added.
Among the victims of Palestinian shootings in recent years is Rabbi Achiad Ettinger, who was critically wounded in an attack in 2019 at the Ariel Junction in Samaria, and passed days later.
Ettinger, 47, from the community of Eli in Samaria, was the father of 12 children. He headed a yeshiva in a difficult neighborhood in south Tel Aviv.
