Islamic hate-preacher Louis Farrakhan and antisemitic professor Leonard Jeffries were both hosted at a church where Senator Raphael Warnock was employed as a pastor.

As former president Donald Trump faces a torrent of criticism for his recent meeting with antisemites Kanye West and Nick Fuentes, the past associations of Georgia Democratic Senator Rev. Raphael Warnock, who just defeated Republican challenger Herschel Walker, have also come under scrutiny.
Specifically, Warnock worked as a pastor under Rev. Calvin O. Butts at Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem, New York, which hosted at least two high-profile figures who stoked Jew-hatred in the U.S.: Islamic hate-preacher Louis Farrakhan and antisemitic academic Leonard Jeffries.
Farrakhan’s virulent brand of antisemitism has shocked the conscience for decades, but hasn’t prevented celebrities and athletes from expressing their support for him.
Jeffries is a lesser known antisemite who sparked a scandal in the 1990s over his statements about Jews, which ultimately led to his replacement as Black studies department chair at City University of New York (CUNY). Jeffries blamed Jews for the transatlantic slave trade and promoted other conspiracies.
While Warnock’s precise interactions, if any, with Farrakhan and Jeffries at Abyssinian Church remain unknown, the reverend and lawmaker has his own history of problematic statements and positions related to the Jewish state.
In the past, Warnock “signed a letter that alleged that Israel was an ‘apartheid state,'” and made the false accusation that the “government of Israel shoot[s] down unarmed Palestinian sisters and brothers like birds of prey,” reported JNS.
“He says that he supports Israel, and favors a two-state solution,” added the JNS report, but “also defended the notorious Rev. Jeremiah Wright and invited a Farrakhan-linked minister to his congregation on numerous occasions.”
