Can Israel’s minorities feel comfortable singing the national anthem of the Jewish state? According to a patriotic Druze citizen of Israel, the answer is a resounding yes!
Atta Farhat, chairman of the Druze Zionist Council, says he’s proud to sing the Israeli national anthem, Hatikvah – Hebrew for “The Hope,” referring to the 2,000-year-old dream of the Jewish People to return to the Land of Israel.
Some members of Israeli minority groups – many incited by anti-Israel elements, despite the equal rights and opportunities for all Israelis regardless of race or religion – are refusing to sing the national anthem, saying they cannot possibly identify with the Jewish yearning for a state of their own in the ancient Jewish homeland.
Farhat strongly disagrees. Watch the video and hear him express his love and support for the State of Israel!
