An Orthodox Jewish woman in France has lodged a complaint against police, alleging their violent, antisemitic, and sexist conduct during her arrest, as reported by BFMTV.
The incident, initially disclosed by Mediapart, took place last June in Créteil, a suburb of Paris. The 67-year-old woman was brought to a police station following an alleged failure to comply with instructions during a traffic stop.
A video shared on X shows her on the floor of the station, handcuffed to a chair, screaming, while officers demand she remove her wig and make derogatory remarks about her and her Jewish faith.
Des vidéos que révèle Mediapart montrent qu’une femme de 67 ans, juive orthodoxe, a été privée de sa perruque alors qu’elle venait d’être arrêtée pour un refus d’obtempérer.
