France is the first European country to install the environmentally friendly Israeli solar tree.

Israeli innovator Sol-logic, a leading promoter of renewable energy systems, unveiled a revolutionary prototype of a solar tree (“eTree”) in 2014.

The modern looking tree has solar panels replacing leaves, creating enough energy each day to cool water in an attached water fountain, charge smart phones for visitors, provide night time lighting and even free WiFi!

Ten cities in Israel and the US have already installed eTrees.

Now Europe is catching on, as the residents of the relatively small town of Nevers in central France will be enjoying a lot more than just shade from their newest tree.
