This is the miraculous story of a man who survived the Holocaust, immigrated to Israel, and this year finished learning the entire Babylonian Talmud!

Shalom Thein grew up with no connection to Judaism after his family survived the Holocaust, embracing a career and secular life in South America.

Thein felt something was missing in his life, however, which led him on a search for meaning and ultimately brought him to religious observance and a life learning Torah in the Holy Land.

This week, Thein joined thousands of other Jews who committed to a seven-and-a-half year learning cycle through which they covered each of the 2,711 pages of the Babylonian Talmud. Check out his amazing story!
