Honest Reporting asks: Why does the BBC refer to infamous terrorist Leila Khaled as a “Palestinian personality”?

Terrorists, just like murderers and war criminals, are defined by their acts of violence, no matter what they do before or after, notes media watchdog Honest Reporting.

The media would never describe Osama Bin Laden or Saddam Hussein as a celebrity, so why should that be the way that a Palestinian terrorist is framed by the BBC?

The media have a responsibility to not blur the lines between terrorism and celebrity status.
