“I will not be intimidated. I will continue to share the Israeli story and hold open dialogue with all parts of British society,” Hotovely tweeted after the event.
Ambassador to the UK Tzipi Hotovely fled pro-Palestinian rioters who were outraged that the Israeli diplomat had been invited to participate in a debate at the prestigious London School of Economics Tuesday night.
Holding a bouquet of flowers, Hotovely entered a car after being scurried away by security guards.
As the threatening anti-Israel protesters screamed “Shame on you,” police worked to bring order.
Meanwhile, Hotovely — a member of the Likud party, a strong advocate for the Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria — remained defiant.
“I will not be intimidated. I will continue to share the Israeli story and hold open dialogue with all parts of British society,” Hotovely tweeted after the event.
The program, which ran for the full hour and a half, took place as planned and was attended by about 200 students who heard the envoy’s message.
“Antisemitism has no place in our universities or our country,” a “disgusted” Home Secretary Priti Patel tweeted. “I will continue to do everything possible to keep the Jewish community safe from intimidation, harassment & abuse.”
The Israeli envoy thanked the British government for their support.
I’m thankful for all the support I have received from the British government, many friends and partners.

“I’m very thankful for the support from the British government, many friends and partners,” she tweeted.
Left-wing Jews in Britain were opposed to Hotovely’s appointment as ambassador because of her pro-settler views.
