Maya Regev, 21, and her younger brother Itay, 18, were abducted by Hamas on October 7 during the brutal attack in southern Israel. Despite the terrifying circumstances, their father held onto hope, uplifted by a mysterious phone call from someone referred to as “a child of G-d.”

The siblings endured a harrowing experience in Gaza, suffering from severe injuries and inhumane living conditions. Throughout their captivity, they found comfort in each other, communicating through handwritten notes that provided vital emotional support during the darkest moments.

After a tense period, Maya and Itay were among more than 100 hostages released during a ceasefire in late November. However, their friend Omer Shem Tov remains missing, highlighting the ongoing trauma and uncertainty that families of hostages continue to face.
