Daily Wire visited the site of biblical Shiloh in the Binyamin region of Israel, where five red heifers have been imported from Texas.

Red heifers are an integral aspect of Jewish purification law. As explained in the Torah, one who wished to visit the Holy Temple but was deemed ritually impure had to first be sprinkled with a mixture consisting of ash of red heifer and spring water, before immersing in a ritual bath.

Chief Content Officer of Ancient Shiloh Moriyah Shapira said the red heifers are probably the first ones to be seen in Israel for 2,000 years. She explained that, after an extensive search, red heifers that meet the Torah’s specific requirements were finally found being raised by a Christian farmer in Texas. The farmer said he had specifically chosen to raise “Red Angus” cattle that could be used for ritual purification according to the Torah.

Shapira also noted that Hamas had cited the importation of the red heifers as a reason for starting its war against Israel.
