PortugueseIsraeli politician Yair Lapid, chairman of the Yesh Atid party, was interviewed on CNN where he slammed the EU’s hypocritical move to label products from “contested” Israeli areas.
Lapid correctly points out that this is a move by the EU done to exert pressure on Israel.
Essentially, what the EU has done is try and dictate what the Israeli borders are in an attempt to pre-determine the borders of a non-existent Palestinian state.
The EU is trying to appear innocent about this move, claiming that there is no political manipulation going on here.
Despite the logic Lapid presents, it should be noted that he fully supports and is pushing for the two-state solution. This just shows that regarding the EU’s actions, the Israeli government is in agreement.
