Biblical Scrolls

Text from recently unearthed fragments of a biblical scroll gives us valuable historical insights.

Fragments of a biblical scroll that dates to the Bar Kokhba revolt were retrieved from what is called the “Cave of Horror” in the Judean Desert Reserve’s stream known as Nahal Hever.

The scrolls, which were discovered in the same area as the Dead Sea Scrolls, contain verses from the books of the prophets Zechariah and Nahum and are written in Greek. What caught archaeologists’ attention was the difference in one word that indicates an alternate perspective on how justice should be carried out.

Watch and find out what the variation is and learn about the other incredible biblical-era treasures that were found.
