Dead Sea Scroll

Thanks to researchers at Ben-Gurion University, a major mystery is on the way to being solved.

The Dead Sea Scrolls are ancient manuscripts that were discovered between 1947 and 1956 in 11 caves near Khirbet Qumran, on the northwestern shores of the Dead Sea.

Israeli researchers are finally discovering how and why the Dead Sea Scrolls ended up in Qumran. Analysts at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev put the puzzle together using an ancient Hebrew document that was hidden in Cairo some 1,000 years ago.

Dr. Daniel Vainstub, lecturer at BGU and the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, explains the recent findings and his theory.
