The 33 days between Passover and Lag B’Omer, are days that have some aspects of mourning. We don’t listen to music, shave, cut hair, or have celebrations.
The Jewish people mourn during this time because 24,000 students of the famed Rabbi Akiva died during this time.
The question is why are these weeks treated differently than other national tragedies that have befallen the Jewish people?
