At a recent rally, students at Rutgers University held signs that read “Sinwar Lives” — openly glorifying Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas mastermind behind the brutal October 7 massacre of over 1,200 innocent Israelis and kidnapping of 250 innocent people. This isn’t just offensive — it’s dangerous.

Sinwar is responsible for rape, torture and murder of men, women and children. Students who celebrate him are not engaging in “free speech” — they’re spreading pure hate. And instead of drawing a line, Rutgers remains silent.

This is just the latest in a long line of disgraceful incidents at Rutgers.

Harassment of Jewish Students: In May 2024, reports surfaced of Jewish students being targeted with antisemitic rhetoric and harassment, including unauthorized use of a Jewish student’s image on posters placed in the dormitory.

Antisemitic Vandalism: In October 2024, signs on campus were defaced with graffiti reading “Sinwar Lives,” glorifying the Hamas leader responsible for the October 7 attacks.

Administrative Inaction: Despite numerous complaints and a settlement with the U.S. Department of Education in January 2025 to address nearly 300 antisemitic incidents, the university’s measures have been criticized as insufficient and lacking enforcement power.

These events highlight a persistent issue of antisemitism and the glorification of terrorism at Rutgers University. The administration’s inadequate response has left Jewish students feeling vulnerable and unprotected.

Enough is enough.

Jewish students deserve to feel safe. They deserve to walk on campus without seeing terrorists celebrated by their peers. And Rutgers has a responsibility to shut this down — now.

Subject: Immediate Action Needed. Protect Jewish Students at Rutgers

Dear President Holloway,

I am deeply alarmed by the growing pattern of student groups at Rutgers glorifying terrorist organizations and creating a hostile environment for Jewish students. The recent press conference with masked students is only the latest example of extremist behavior on campus.

I urge you to take immediate steps to hold these groups accountable and protect Jewish students from intimidation and hate. Glorifying terrorism has no place at Rutgers.

Sincerely,
[Your Name]
