His presence at the festival symbolizes an endorsement of anti-Semitic rhetoric that cannot be ignored.

His lyrics, dripping with anti-Semitic sentiment, accuse Israel of genocide against Palestinians in his latest song, “HIND’S HALL.” This song references recent events at Columbia University and grossly misrepresents the reality of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Macklemore’s narrative completely disregards the horrific attack on Israel on October 7, when thousands of Hamas fighters, from an internationally recognized terrorist organization, launched a brutal assault that massacred 1,400 innocent people and took over 240 hostages, including women, children, and the elderly.
Macklemore’s spread of anti-Semitic propaganda through his art is a direct attack on these values. Art should unite, not divide. It should inspire, not incite hatred.
We must ensure that Macklemore’s performance is not allowed if it includes anti-Semitic characteristics.
