The Senate is considering further sanctions on Iran because of its military belligerence. We must support this initiative.
The Islamic Republic of Iran continues to test-fire its missiles, which threaten Israel, Europe and possibly the US, while violating United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions time after time.
US senators plan to introduce legislation to impose further sanctions on Iran, which, they say, is acting to “destabilize” the Middle East.
“I think it is now time for Congress to take Iran on directly in terms of what they’ve done outside the nuclear program,” Senator Lindsey Graham, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said on Sunday.
“Iran is a bad actor in the greatest sense of the word when it comes to the region. To Iran, I say, if you want us to treat you differently then stop building missiles, test-firing them in defiance of UN resolutions and writing ‘Death to Israel’ on the missile,” he stated.
Fighting Iran’s military buildup and expansion is imperative for Israel’s security, and therefore such legislation to impose further sanctions on Iran is of great significance to the Jewish state.
We must urge our senators to get behind this endeavor and ensure that the legislation comes to fruition and passes into law!
