Israel haters have suffered yet another defeat in their war against the existence of the Jewish State.
A resolution condemning alleged Israeli violations of Palestinian academic freedom presented to the American Historical Association (AHA) was roundly rejected by members at its annual business meeting on Saturday.
The vast majority of the 111 attendants voted to reject the resolution, with only 51 members supporting the resolution submitted by Historians Against the War, a group that has publicly endorsed the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement.
The group suffered a similar defeat last year as well.
The resolution claimed that Israel restricted academic activities in the Palestinian Authority (PA) and Gaza and purposefully attacked Palestinian academic institutions.
William Jacobson, who attended the vote, explained that this was “a stunning defeat for BDS” because the resolution was not even a full boycott resolution, just a “scaled back” condemnation of Israel.
“While some groups, like the American Studies Association, have become captive anti-Israel political organizations, it’s satisfying to see that at least at the American Historical Association, sanity and reason have prevailed,” he added.
