IRGC-affiliated channels released this clip of celebrations in the Azeri capital on Wednesday, during which the Israeli flag was also raised, Telegram blogger Abu Ali Express reports.

The relationship between Israel and Azerbaijan continues to flourish, with ties strengthening rapidly since the opening of the embassy in Tel Aviv just a few months ago.

The Knesset’s Israel-Azerbaijan Parliamentary Friendship Group held an official visit to Baku last month in order to strengthen ties further.

On Wednesday, the Israeli flag was raised in Baku oduring celebrations, demonstrating that the people of Azerbaijan – not just the government – favor ties with the Jewish state.

Meanwhile, tensions continue to rise between Azerbaijan and its neighbor,  the Islamic Republic of Iran.
