An Arab terrorist on Wednesday morning rammed his car into a Border Police checkpoint near Jerusalem, throwing an Israeli policeman into the air and then stabbed him.
An initial inquiry shows that the terrorist arrived at a checkpoint at the entrance to Abu Dis, a Jerusalem suburb, and struck one of the troops with his car before stabbing him with a pair of scissors.
The terrorist was shot dead. He was identified as Ibrahim Muhammad Ali.
A pipe bomb was found at the scene of the attack, and a police sapper was alerted to the scene to defuse the bomb.
The victim, 20, was taken to a Jerusalem hospital for further treatment in moderate, stable condition with stab wounds to his upper body.
