Islamic State ISIS

Following Israel’s lead, Egypt officially designates the Islamic State (ISIS) a threat to its existence. Undeterred, ISIS continues to aspire to world domination.

An Egyptian court has designated the Islamic State (IS or ISIS) a terrorist organization and banned it from the country on Sunday, AP reports.

The court added that it considers all of ISIS’ affiliates to be terrorist organizations as well.

The ruling related specifically to the Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, a jihadist terrorist group based in the Sinai Peninsula which is responsible for multiple terror attacks against Egyptian security forces.

The terror group, which recently swore allegiance to ISIS, has killed hundreds of Egyptian soldiers and police since the ousting of President Mohammed Morsi, a member of the Hamas-affiliated Muslim Brotherhood.

The group also claimed responsibility for several rocket attacks on southern Israel.

Other countries across the region also have banned the group.

ISIS Aspires to World Domination

ISIS has declared its aspiration to dominate the entire Middle East, hoping to establish a strict rule of Muslim Sharia law. ISIS has further declared that it has similar plans for the entire world, hoping to establish a global caliphate. Its branch in Egypt is just one step in that direction.

ISIS Threatens Israel’s Security

Israel already declared ISIS an illegal organization in September, citing its threat to Israel’s security.

Minister of Defense Moshe Ya’alon signed an order officially outlawing ISIS, doing so in accordance with the recommendation of the Shabak (Israeli Security Agency).

“This is being done for the sake of national security, public safety and public order,” the declaration stated.
