A terrorist murdered two Israeli sisters on Friday morning as they were driving past the town of Humra in the Jordan Valley.

After hitting the car, the assailant(s) shot the women, who were in their 20s, as well as their mother, who was seriously wounded and taken to hospital.

The father, who was driving nearby in another vehicle, witnessed the horrific attack on his family, who are from the city of Efrat in Gush Etzion, located in Judea.

“Following the reports of a shooting attack at the Hamra Junction, a report was received regarding a car accident between a Palestinian and an Israeli vehicle. IDF soldiers who were dispatched to the scene located numerous bullet hits on the Israeli vehicle, it was indicated that the accident was in fact a shooting attack.

“As a result, three Israeli women were injured, two of them were killed. IDF soldiers are blocking routes adjacent to the scene of the shooting attack, a pursuit after the terrorists has begun,” an IDF spokesperson said in a statement.

“In the face of terrorism, we have to put aside our differences and act with an iron fist,” Gush Etzion Regional Council Chairman Shlomo Ne’eman said in a statement.

“Despicable and heartless people murdered young women on their way to celebrate the [Passover] holiday. Our only enemy is terror, which raises its head and must be eliminated. The terrorists must be caught and not left alive…

“No terrorism will cause us to surrender. We will continue to live and thrive in the land of our ancestors,” he concluded.

Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant will convene a situation assessment with senior officials in the defense establishment.

The past several days have seen a surge of attacks against the Jewish state from multiple fronts, including rockets from Gaza in the south, riots on the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem, and hundreds of missiles fired from Lebanon at northern Israel.
