The IDF on Wednesday night demolished the homes of two terrorists who were involved in the murder of 17-year old Rina Shnerb.

Rina Shnerb was on a hike on a Friday in August 2019 with her father Eitan and brother Dvir when a Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) cell set off a bomb near the Danny Spring they were walking to, killing her and wounding her father and brother.

The IDF stated that it destroyed the homes of Yizan Megamas in Bir Zeit and Walid Khanatshe in Ramallah.

The demolitions were carried out after the terrorists’ families filed petitions with the High Court of Justice and after another hearing was held on the issue. Their petitions were denied.

During the demolition operations, dozens of Arab rioters violently attacked the IDF forces with rocks and firebombs. The forces responded with crowd control measures.

No Israelis were harmed in the incident.

Minister of Defense Naftali Bennet called Shnerb’s parents on Thursday after the demolitions and told them that “we settled a score with the abominable terrorists.”

“We must exact a heavy price from anyone who raises a hand against an Israeli citizen, and we will not stop pursuing anyone who wants our demise. Whoever hurts us, we will hurt him back,” he told the parents.

Qubar resident Kassam Shibli, 25, was also involved in the attack at Ein Danny and in other attacks, and his home is likewise slated for demolition.

The demolitions of terrorists’ homes are meant to serve as deterrence for potential terrorists plotting future attacks.
