Yad Ezra V’Shulamit has received dozens of calls from soldiers in the north and south asking for food.
Tens of thousands of reservists were called up by the government to bolster the forces in the south and protect the northern border.The surprise attack and the speed of the response left the army unprepared.
There is no food for these soldiers on both fronts!
Yad Ezra V’Shulamit has received dozens of calls from soldiers in the north and south asking for food. We sent 2 truck loads of all the food from our warehouse to the south Sunday morning and we ordered 100,000 hot meals to be sent both to the north and the south.
See below for the requests from soldiers:
“We are 400 men waiting in a sports center in Kiryat Shemona to be called to the front. There is no food here and none being provided. Please send food ASAP.”
“I was called out for army service on Shabbos. I came here last night (Saturday night) only to find that there are no provisions – nothing. Just as the army was unprepared for the invasion, they are unprepared for us – thousands of us called up for battle with no food or drink. Please send whatever you can”.
The army isn’t contacting us – the soldiers are. They are turning to us and we are turning to you in this crisis. Please stand by Israel, her soldiers and her people.
