Mayor of London Boris Johnson will soon visit Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Ramallah as part of a three day trip to the Middle East, the UK Jewish News reported on Friday.
Johnson will be leading a trade delegation to the region to develop London’s economic ties with Israel and the Palestinians. Johnson and delegates from 15 tech companies will visit the Google headquarters and Stock Exchange in Tel Aviv, according to the report.
“We’re heading to a region with enormous potential for stronger links with London. This visit will be a fantastic opportunity to explore the possibilities of building the long term relationships and partnerships that will create opportunities for our businesses to prosper,” said Johnson, according to the Jewish News.
According to the report, Johnson is going to meet Governor Leila Ghannam of Ramallah and Al Bireh. Ghannam is the first Palestinian woman ever to serve as governor. He is also going to meet with young Palestinian entrepreneurs and other Palestinian business people.
Trade between the UK and Israel is valued at about $7 billion.
