A man in his 30s is in hospital with a serious head injury after being shot by a Palestinian terrorist near the village of Huwara in Samaria Sunday afternoon.
He was later identified as David Stern, an American-Israeli.
His wife was lightly wounded and is suffering anxiety. Their three children managed to escape injury.
The assailant fled the scene after leaving his weapon at the site. Security forces launched a manhunt and caught up with him shortly afterwards. The terrorist was neutralized and is now facing questioning.
Magen David Adom paramedic Moshe Meir Shimon said: “We provided medical treatment to a man in his 30s who was seriously injured by a gunshot to his upper body and to a woman who was suffering from shock. We quickly transferred them to the ambulances and evacuated them to the hospital as the man’s condition is serious.”
Palestinian terror groups praised the attack. Residents of nearby villages celebrated the shooting, handing out sweets.
The attack occurred exactly three weeks after a deadly shooting nearby that claimed the lives of Hillel Menachem Yaniv, 22, and his 20-year-old brother, Yigal Yaakov.
