Caption: U.S. Mint officials and G.I.’s are sorting out millions of dollars-worth of German bullion in the Reichsbank vaults at Frankfurt, Germany. Identification and assaying alone, will take weeks according to Mr. Leland Howard, Assistant Director of the U.S. Mint. This great hoard of loot also includes jewels extorted from rich victims of the Nazi Gestapo. In the strong rooms were discovered the German crown jewels.
