Iran appears to believe that the US is essentially standing behind them on the ISIS issue. This, in turn, is seen as a tacit endorsement of Iranian influence in Iraq.

Iran claims Sunni terror groups plotted imminent bombings in different parts of the country, including Tehran and a number of provinces, during the holy Muslim month of Ramadan. This is rather ironic since Iran is recognized as the leading state sponsor of global terrorism.
