Harvard divinity grad Shabbos Kestenbaum discussed his decision to sue the university for failing to take action against antisemitic conduct among its students and faculty.

Speaking to podcaster Shai Davidai, Kestenbaum asked why Harvard and other Ivy League schools “have been so unable to condemn” the “loud, angry, aggressive minority” responsible for the antisemitic climate.

“They’re children, and Harvard should treat them as the children that they are – but they just don’t,” he said.

Kestenbaum described a specific incident involving a Harvard staff member who had posted a social media video in which he brandished a machete and threatened Kestenbaum and other prominent Jews. “Now you know why we had to file a lawsuit – because this has been normalized,” he said.

“This is part and parcel [of] being a Jewish student on a college campus; When something of this magnitude happens, there is literally no response.”
