Once the center of Jewish life in Israel, archaeologists are digging up this ancient site, revealing its rich history!

Around 1,800 years ago in the city of Usha, a group of rabbis came together and formed the “Sanhedrin” – the supreme rabbinical court.

The ancient body revived the Jewish community after the horrific devastation left by the failed Bar Kochba rebellion, during which thousands of Jews were killed by the Romans.

Today, you can get a glimpse into the world during this period by following the Sanhedrin Trail in the Galillee and vising the excavations of Usha, where archaelogists discovered multiple immersion baths, revealing the importance of “ritual purity” even after the Temple was destroyed.
