Ágnes Keleti

Agnes Keleti, Holocaust survivor and Olympic legend, has passed away at the age of 103, marking the end of a century-long journey of resilience and triumph.

Born in Budapest in 1921, Keleti’s early gymnastics dreams were derailed by the rise of Nazi Germany, forcing her to assume a false identity to evade deportation during the Holocaust, where she lost her father and many relatives.

Despite unimaginable hardships, she went on to become one of the most celebrated athletes in Olympic history, winning 10 medals, including five golds, across the 1952 and 1956 Games.
