Tu B’Av, traditionally a day of love and celebration, this year is full of heartache for Ziv, whose partner Eliyah remains a hostage in Gaza.

The State of Israel X account posted a video of Ziv at the Tel Aviv Promenade sitting at one end of a dinner table, with a picture of Eliyah placed in a chair at the other end. Pedestrians stopped to comfort Ziv as they walked by.

“Ziv will not be able to celebrate with her partner Eliyah who is currently being held hostage in Gaza,” the post said. “This Tu B’av so many of our hearts are broken.”
