The gunman was reportedly an Arab from Haifa who converted to Islam recently.

On Thursday, a terrorist pulled a gun out near an entrance to the Temple Mount in the footage caught below.

According to the Israel Police, the gunman is actually a 45-year-old Israeli citizen who recently converted to Islam, having been raised in the Christian faith, Times of Israel reported.

While the attack left one policeman with minor injuries, the terrorist was eliminated by officers on the scene.
