Israeli activist Ruth Shefer, also known as the “Grandmother of Mount Carmel,” makes sure the environment in this popular tourist attraction remains pristine.

For the last 20 years, Ruth has gotten up every morning to pick up garbage left by visitors, taking environmental protection into her own hands.
