Former US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman says there is a better solution to the “Israeli-Palestinian Conflict” than the so-called “Two-State Solution”: Israeli application of sovereignty in Judea and Samaria.

Speaking to Ben Shapiro, Friedman said, “We now know demonstratively that the Two-State Solution won’t work,” noting that a Palestinian state was given a chance to thrive in Gaza but failed miserably, instead becoming “one of the most vile terror states ever known to man.” On the other hand, Israel has “a track record of empowering an Arab minority” and could do so with sovereignty in Judea and Samaria, as well.

Furthermore, Friedman emphasized, Judea and Samaria is “really the DNA of the Jewish people, and essential to people who observe the Christian faith, and we can’t give it away” to the Palestinian Arabs, who, given the opportunity, “will destroy any connection of the Jewish people, of the Christian faith, to this holy land.”

“And if we can’t give it away, we need to come up with a system to keep it under Israeli sovereignty.”

Finally, Friedman emphasized that Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria “is the best outcome for everyone” in the Middle East, noting, “There will be no security in the region until Israel is able to rule over this land.”
