While free speech remains vigorously protected in Israel, Mahmoud Abbas’ corrupt Palestinian Authority muzzles dissenting voices at every opportunity.

Free speech remains, and specifically the right to criticize the powers that be, remains the hallmark of a robust democracy. That’s the reason Israel promotes and protects the right to free speech, including the right to vocally criticize lawmakers, public officials, and the prime minister.

Under Mahmoud Abbas’ rule, there is no free speech, as witnessed by a recent crackdown on social media pages critical of the unelected ruler of the Palestinian Authority.
