Can a culture that worships martyrdom as a means to destroy its enemies ever serve as an honest partner in peace?

More than a half century ago, former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir famously said, “Peace will come to the Middle East when the Arabs love their children more than they hate [the Jews].”

If the clips in this video are any indication, that day has yet to arrive. It is hard to fathom a mother celebrating the death of her own child, but the Palestinians’ reverence for martyrdom produces this tragic phenomenon.

While these images are hard to watch, they provide a wake-up call regarding the dire reality Israelis face.
