The Scroll of Esther was read at the tombstone of Purim heroes Esther and Mordechai in Iran.

Iran’s Chief Rabbi Yehuda Gerami read Megillat Esther, the Scroll of Esther, at the Tomb of Mordechai and Esther in the city of Hamadan on Monday evening, when Jews around the world celebrated the Purim holiday.

Mordechai and Esther are the heroes of the Purim story, which took place in ancient Persia.

Despite the call for the destruction of Israel by the Islamic regime, the Jewish community in Iran says they are not in danger.
