This week’s Torah portion, Beha’alotcha, teaches us the unique way in which three important utensils were made in the Holy Temple. What lesson can we learn from it?

Three important items in the Holy Temple were each manufactured from a single block of gold, with no option whatsoever to make the task easier: the trumpets, the Cherubim – those angel-like statues with children’s faces that were placed on the holy ark – and the Menorah, the seven-branched candelabra that is now the emblem of the State of Israel.

Why was it necessary that these items be made in such a tedious, difficult manner? In this video, Rabbi Ari Enkin, United with Israel’s rabbinic director, explains the reason.
