Twitter’s CEO Jack Dorsey told Senate Republicans that Holocaust denial is “misleading information'”but not banned on the platform.
During Senate hearings on Wednesday, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey was questioned by U.S. Senator Cory Gardner as to why the social media platform had been flagging or deleting tweets from US President Donald Trump while leaving Iran’s Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s posts – replete with Holocaust denial and calls to wipe Israel off of the map – untouched.
Gardner asked Dorsey: “If somebody denied the Holocaust happened, it’s not misinformation?”
“It’s misleading information,” Dorsey responded. “But we don’t have a policy against that type of misleading information.”
Seriously, Twitter?!?!
This is astonishing: Jack Dorsey says that Holocaust denial is not “misinformation” according to Twitter policy. pic.twitter.com/GhVn3u9ow8
